DETAILS

Care Instructions
Agave parrasana thrives in bright, direct sunlight and prefers warm temperatures. It is well-suited to dry conditions and does not require frequent watering. Ensure the plant is kept in a low-humidity environment to mimic its natural habitat.
Soil
This agave prefers sandy soil with excellent drainage to prevent root rot. A cactus or succulent soil mix is ideal. Avoid using heavy or clay soils that retain moisture.
Fertilizer
Agave parrasana does not require regular fertilization. If desired, a light application of a balanced, low-nitrogen fertilizer can be applied during the growing season.
Repotting
Repot Agave parrasana every few years or when it outgrows its container. Choose a pot with drainage holes and use a well-draining soil mix. Handle the plant carefully to avoid injury from the sharp spines.
Propagation
Propagate Agave parrasana by removing and planting offsets (pups) that grow around the base of the parent plant. This is best done during the growing season. Allow the offsets to dry for a few days before planting them in well-draining soil.
Pruning
Pruning is not typically required for Agave parrasana. Remove any dead or damaged leaves as needed, using caution to avoid the sharp spines.
Toxicity
Agave parrasana is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. The sap can cause skin irritation, so handle with care and wear gloves when working with the plant.
