DETAILS

Care Instructions
Oncidium leleui requires bright, indirect light and moderate temperatures. It thrives in environments with high humidity and good air circulation. Watering should be done when the soil is almost dry, and the plant should be kept in a well-ventilated area to prevent fungal infections.
Soil
This orchid prefers a well-draining, loamy soil mix that mimics its natural epiphytic habitat. A mix of bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss works well. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent waterlogging.
Fertilizer
Use a balanced orchid fertilizer with a nutrient composition of 20-20-20. Fertilize every two weeks during the growing season and reduce frequency during dormancy. Dilute the fertilizer to half the recommended strength to avoid root burn.
Repotting
Repot Oncidium leleui every 2-3 years or when the potting medium breaks down. Choose a slightly larger pot and fresh orchid mix. Gently remove the old medium from the roots and trim any dead or rotting roots before repotting.
Propagation
Propagate by division during repotting. Carefully separate the pseudobulbs, ensuring each division has at least three healthy bulbs. Plant the divisions in fresh orchid mix and provide the same care as the parent plant.
Pruning
Prune spent flower spikes and any dead or yellowing leaves to encourage new growth. Use sterilized scissors or pruning shears to prevent the spread of disease.
Toxicity
Oncidium leleui is not toxic to pets or humans. However, it is always best to keep plants out of reach of pets and children to prevent any accidental ingestion.
Additional
Ensure good air circulation around the plant to prevent fungal infections. Mist the plant regularly to maintain humidity, especially in dry indoor environments. Avoid placing the plant in direct sunlight, as this can scorch the leaves.
