Instructions d'entretien
Davallia canariensis requires bright, indirect light and moderate temperatures. It thrives in high humidity and should be watered when the top layer of soil feels dry. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely. This plant can be grown both indoors and outdoors, provided it is protected from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Sol
This fern prefers a well-draining, loamy soil mix. A mix of peat, perlite, and pine bark works well. Ensure the soil remains moist but not waterlogged, as the plant is sensitive to overwatering.
Engrais
Feed Davallia canariensis with a balanced liquid fertilizer, such as 10-10-10, diluted to half strength. Fertilize every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when the plant's growth slows down.
Rempotage
Repot the plant every 2-3 years or when it outgrows its current pot. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and ensure it has good drainage. Gently remove the plant from its old pot, shake off excess soil, and place it in the new pot with fresh soil mix.
Propagation
Propagate Davallia canariensis by division. Carefully separate the rhizomes, ensuring each division has at least one growing tip. Plant the divisions in a suitable soil mix and keep them in a warm, humid environment until they establish new growth.
Taille
Pruning is generally not required for this fern. However, you can trim off any dead or damaged fronds to maintain the plant's appearance. Use clean, sharp scissors to make clean cuts.
Toxicité
Davallia canariensis is non-toxic to pets and humans. It is safe to have around children and animals.
