Instructions d'entretien
Pothos is an easy-to-care-for plant that thrives in moderate temperatures and high humidity. It prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light conditions. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry, and ensure it is kept in a humid environment. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves.
Sol
Pothos prefers well-draining soil, such as a mix of loam and peat. Ensure the soil remains evenly moist but not waterlogged. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.
Engrais
Feed Pothos with a balanced liquid fertilizer, such as 20-20-20, every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. Reduce feeding during the winter months when the plant's growth slows down.
Rempotage
Repot Pothos every 1-2 years or when it becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is one size larger than the current one, and use fresh potting mix. Gently remove the plant from its old pot, loosen the roots, and place it in the new pot, filling in with soil around the roots.
Propagation
Pothos can be easily propagated through stem cuttings. Take a cutting with at least 4-6 inches of stem and a few leaves. Place the cutting in water or directly into moist soil. Roots will develop in a few weeks, and the new plant can be potted once the roots are well-established.
Taille
Prune Pothos regularly to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth. Trim back any leggy or overgrown stems, and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Pruning can be done throughout the year as needed.
Toxicité
Pothos is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. The plant contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause irritation, swelling, and discomfort in the mouth and throat. Keep the plant out of reach of children and pets.
