Instructions d'entretien
The Prayer Plant prefers bright, indirect light and should be kept in a warm environment with high humidity. Water the plant regularly to keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight as this can scorch the leaves. Maintain moderate temperatures and provide good air circulation.
Sol
Maranta leuconeura prefers well-draining, loamy soil that retains moisture without becoming waterlogged. A mix of peat, perlite, and potting soil works well. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water from accumulating at the bottom.
Engrais
Feed the Prayer Plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer (10-10-10) every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. Reduce feeding during the winter months when the plant's growth slows down.
Rempotage
Repot the Prayer Plant every 2-3 years or when it becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is one size larger than the current one and use fresh potting mix. Gently remove the plant from its old pot, loosen the roots, and place it in the new pot, filling in with soil around the roots.
Propagation
Propagate Maranta leuconeura through division or stem cuttings. For division, separate the plant into smaller sections, each with its own root system, and pot them individually. For stem cuttings, cut a healthy stem just below a node, remove the lower leaves, and place the cutting in water or moist soil until roots develop.
Taille
Prune the Prayer Plant to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth. Trim back any leggy or damaged stems using clean, sharp scissors. Pruning can be done throughout the year as needed.
Toxicité
Maranta leuconeura is non-toxic to pets and humans, making it a safe choice for households with animals and children. However, it is always best to discourage pets from chewing on any houseplants.
Supplémentaire
To keep your Prayer Plant healthy, mist the leaves regularly to increase humidity, especially in dry indoor environments. Rotate the plant occasionally to ensure even growth and prevent it from leaning towards the light source.
