Instructions d'entretien
Monstera deliciosa prefers bright, indirect light and should be kept in moderate temperatures. It thrives in high humidity and should be watered regularly to keep the soil evenly moist. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves.
Sol
Monstera deliciosa prefers well-draining, loamy soil that retains moisture but does not become waterlogged. A mix of potting soil, peat, and perlite or orchid bark works well. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent root rot.
Engrais
Use a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer with an N-P-K ratio of 20-20-20. Fertilize every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) and reduce frequency in the fall and winter.
Rempotage
Repot Monstera deliciosa every 1-2 years or when it outgrows its pot. Choose a pot that is 1-2 inches larger in diameter than the current one. Gently remove the plant from its old pot, loosen the roots, and place it in the new pot with fresh soil.
Propagation
Monstera deliciosa can be propagated through stem cuttings. Take a cutting with at least one node and an aerial root, and place it in water or directly into moist soil. Keep the cutting in a warm, humid environment until roots develop.
Taille
Prune Monstera deliciosa to control its size and shape. Remove any dead or damaged leaves, and trim back overgrown stems. Pruning can be done throughout the year, but it is best to do it during the growing season.
Toxicité
Monstera deliciosa is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. The plant contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause irritation, swelling, and discomfort in the mouth and digestive tract. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
