Instructions d'entretien
Golden Currant requires moderate watering, allowing the soil to dry out partially between waterings. It prefers bright, direct sunlight and moderate temperatures. The plant thrives in average humidity levels and should be protected from extreme cold.Récolte
Ribes aureum, commonly known as golden currant, is typically harvested in late summer to early fall when the berries are fully ripe and have a deep, rich color. To harvest, gently pick the berries by hand, ensuring not to damage the plant or unripe berries. It is important to harvest regularly to encourage continuous fruit production. The berries can be used fresh, or processed into jams, jellies, and other preserves. Ensure the plant is well-watered and mulched to retain soil moisture during the growing season.Sol
Golden Currant prefers well-draining loamy soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Ensure the soil is rich in organic matter to support healthy growth.Engrais
Use a balanced fertilizer with an N-P-K ratio of 10-10-10. Fertilize the plant in early spring and again in mid-summer to support its growth and fruit production.Rempotage
Repot Golden Currant every 2-3 years or when it outgrows its container. Choose a slightly larger pot with good drainage and fresh loamy soil. Repot in early spring before new growth begins.Propagation
Propagate Golden Currant through hardwood cuttings taken in late autumn or early winter. Plant the cuttings in a well-draining soil mix and keep them in a cool, shaded area until they root.Taille
Prune Golden Currant in late winter or early spring before new growth starts. Remove any dead or damaged branches and thin out crowded areas to improve air circulation and light penetration.Toxicité
Golden Currant is not toxic to pets or humans. The berries are edible and can be used in various culinary applications.Supplémentaire
