DETAILS

Onderhoudsinstructies
Algerian Ivy thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate medium light conditions. It prefers moderate temperatures and high humidity. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry, and ensure it has good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
Bodem
Hedera algeriensis prefers well-draining loamy soil. A mix of potting soil with perlite or sand can improve drainage. The soil should be kept moderately moist but not waterlogged.
Kunstmest
Use a balanced fertilizer with an N-P-K ratio of 10-10-10. Fertilize the plant every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. Reduce feeding during the dormant period.
Verpotten
Repot Algerian Ivy every 2-3 years or when it outgrows its current pot. Choose a pot that is one size larger and ensure it has drainage holes. Gently remove the plant, shake off excess soil, and place it in the new pot with fresh soil.
Voortplanting
Propagate Algerian Ivy through stem cuttings. Take cuttings with at least two leaves and place them in water or moist soil. Keep the cuttings in a warm, humid environment until roots develop.
Snoeien
Prune Algerian Ivy to control its growth and shape. Trim back any overgrown or leggy stems, and remove any dead or damaged leaves. Pruning can be done throughout the growing season.
Toxiciteit
Hedera algeriensis is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. The leaves and berries contain saponins, which can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and other symptoms. Keep the plant out of reach of children and pets.
