Onderhoudsinstructies
Japanese Yew prefers temperate climates and should be placed in an area with indirect bright light. It thrives in moderate temperatures and average humidity. Water the plant when the soil is almost completely dry, but avoid waterlogging. Regular pruning helps maintain its shape and encourages healthy growth.Bodem
Taxus cuspidata prefers well-draining loamy soil. Ensure the soil has good drainage to prevent root rot. A slightly acidic to neutral pH is ideal for this plant.Kunstmest
Use a balanced fertilizer with an N-P-K ratio of 10-10-10. Fertilize in the spring and summer months to support growth. Avoid over-fertilizing as it can harm the plant.Verpotten
Repot the Japanese Yew every 2-3 years or when it outgrows its container. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and ensure it has good drainage. Repotting is best done in the spring.Voortplanting
Propagate Taxus cuspidata through semi-hardwood cuttings taken in late summer. Dip the cuttings in rooting hormone and plant them in a well-draining soil mix. Keep the soil moist and provide indirect bright light until roots develop.Snoeien
Prune the Japanese Yew in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead or diseased branches and shape the plant as desired. Regular pruning helps maintain its form and encourages dense growth.Toxiciteit
All parts of Taxus cuspidata are toxic if ingested, particularly the seeds and leaves. The plant contains toxic alkaloids that can be harmful to pets and humans. Symptoms of poisoning include vomiting, difficulty breathing, and in severe cases, death.Aanvullend
Japanese Yew is often used in landscaping for hedges and topiary due to its dense foliage and ability to be shaped. It is also tolerant of urban pollution, making it a good choice for city gardens.BRENG EEN REVOLUTIE TEWEEG IN UW PLANTENVERZORGING
