DETAILS

Care Instructions
Aechmea fasciata prefers bright, indirect light and moderate temperatures. It thrives in high humidity and should be watered regularly to keep the soil evenly moist. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves.
Soil
The plant prefers a well-draining soil mix, such as a combination of loam and orchid bark. Ensure the soil remains moist but not waterlogged to prevent root rot.
Fertilizer
Use a balanced fertilizer with an N-P-K ratio of 10-10-10. Fertilize monthly during the growing season to support healthy growth and flowering.
Repotting
Repot Aechmea fasciata every 2-3 years or when it outgrows its container. Use a well-draining soil mix and ensure the new pot has adequate drainage holes.
Propagation
Propagate by removing and planting the offsets (pups) that form around the base of the plant. Wait until the pups are at least one-third the size of the parent plant before separating them.
Pruning
Pruning is generally not required for Aechmea fasciata. Remove any dead or damaged leaves to maintain the plant's appearance.
Toxicity
Aechmea fasciata is toxic to pets if ingested. The leaves contain compounds that can cause mild irritation to the mouth and stomach.
Additional
Ensure good air circulation around the plant to prevent fungal infections. Mist the plant regularly to maintain high humidity levels, especially in dry indoor environments.
