DETAILS

Care Instructions
Aloe zebrina thrives in bright, direct sunlight and prefers moderate temperatures. It should be watered sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings. This plant does well in low humidity environments and can be grown both indoors and outdoors.
Soil
Aloe zebrina prefers sandy soil with excellent drainage. A cactus or succulent mix is ideal, as it prevents water from pooling around the roots, which can lead to rot. Ensure the soil is well-aerated and not compacted.
Fertilizer
Fertilize Aloe zebrina sparingly with a balanced fertilizer, such as 2-7-7, during the growing season. Apply the fertilizer once a month, diluting it to half the recommended strength to avoid over-fertilization.
Repotting
Repot Aloe zebrina every 2-3 years or when it outgrows its current pot. Choose a slightly larger pot with good drainage. Gently remove the plant from its old pot, shake off excess soil, and place it in the new pot with fresh soil mix.
Propagation
Aloe zebrina can be propagated through offsets or leaf cuttings. The best time to propagate is during the growing season. Remove offsets from the base of the plant or take a healthy leaf cutting, allow it to callous over for a few days, and then plant it in well-draining soil.
Pruning
Pruning is generally not required for Aloe zebrina. However, you can remove any dead or damaged leaves to maintain the plant's appearance. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears to make clean cuts.
Toxicity
Aloe zebrina is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. The sap can cause gastrointestinal issues such as vomiting and diarrhea. It is advisable to keep this plant out of reach of children and pets.
