DETAILS

Care Instructions
Crinodendron hookerianum thrives in temperate climates with moderate temperatures. It prefers bright, indirect light and should be watered regularly to keep the soil evenly moist. High humidity levels are beneficial for its growth. Protect the plant from harsh, direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Soil
This plant prefers well-draining loamy soil that is rich in organic matter. The soil should be kept evenly moist but not waterlogged. A slightly acidic to neutral pH is ideal for optimal growth.
Fertilizer
Use a balanced fertilizer with a nutrient composition of 10-10-10. Fertilize the plant during the growing season, typically in spring and summer, to support its growth and flowering.
Repotting
Repotting is generally not required for Crinodendron hookerianum unless it is grown in a container. If repotting is necessary, do so in early spring before the growing season begins. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and ensure good drainage.
Propagation
Propagation can be done through semi-hardwood cuttings taken in late summer. Dip the cuttings in rooting hormone and plant them in a well-draining soil mix. Keep the cuttings in a humid environment until they establish roots.
Pruning
Pruning is essential to maintain the shape and health of the plant. Prune after flowering to remove dead or damaged branches and to encourage new growth. Avoid heavy pruning as it may affect the next season's flowering.
Toxicity
Crinodendron hookerianum is not known to be toxic to pets or humans. However, it is always advisable to keep plants out of reach of pets and children to prevent any accidental ingestion.
Additional
Ensure the plant is sheltered from strong winds, as it can be susceptible to wind damage. Mulching around the base of the plant can help retain soil moisture and regulate temperature.
