DETAILS

Care Instructions
Dendrobium aphyllum requires bright, indirect light and thrives in moderate temperatures. It prefers high humidity and should be watered regularly to keep the soil evenly moist. During its dormancy period, reduce watering but do not let the plant dry out completely. Ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal infections.
Soil
This orchid prefers a well-draining, loamy soil mix. A mix of bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss works well. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.
Fertilizer
Use a balanced orchid fertilizer with a nutrient composition of 20-20-20. Fertilize every two weeks during the growing season and reduce feeding during the dormancy period.
Repotting
Repot Dendrobium aphyllum every two to three years or when the potting medium breaks down. Repot in the spring after the blooming period. Use a fresh, well-draining orchid mix and ensure the new pot is only slightly larger than the old one.
Propagation
Propagate by division during repotting. Carefully separate the pseudobulbs, ensuring each division has at least three healthy bulbs. Plant the divisions in fresh orchid mix and water sparingly until new growth appears.
Pruning
Prune after the flowering period by removing spent flower spikes and any dead or damaged stems. This helps to encourage new growth and maintain the plant's shape.
Toxicity
Dendrobium aphyllum is not known to be toxic to pets or humans. However, it is always best to keep plants out of reach of pets and children to prevent any accidental ingestion.
Additional
Ensure the plant has good air circulation to prevent fungal infections. Mist the plant regularly to maintain high humidity, especially in dry indoor environments. During the dormancy period, reduce watering but do not let the plant dry out completely.
