DETAILS

Care Instructions
To care for Quercus canariensis, provide it with plenty of direct sunlight and ensure it receives moderate temperatures. The tree prefers a humid environment but can tolerate some dryness. Regular watering is essential, especially during the growing season, but avoid waterlogging the soil.
Soil
Quercus canariensis prefers well-draining loamy soil that is rich in organic matter. The soil should be kept moderately moist but not waterlogged. A slightly acidic to neutral pH is ideal for this tree.
Fertilizer
Fertilize Quercus canariensis with a balanced fertilizer, such as 10-10-10, during the growing season. Apply the fertilizer once in early spring and again in mid-summer to support healthy growth.
Repotting
Repotting is generally not necessary for Quercus canariensis as it is an outdoor tree. However, if grown in a container during its early stages, repot it into a larger container as it outgrows the current one. Ensure the new container has good drainage.
Propagation
Quercus canariensis can be propagated from acorns. Collect acorns in the fall, stratify them by placing them in a moist medium in the refrigerator for a few months, and then plant them in well-draining soil in the spring.
Pruning
Prune Quercus canariensis during its dormant period in late winter or early spring. Remove any dead, diseased, or crossing branches to maintain a healthy structure and promote air circulation.
Toxicity
Quercus canariensis is not known to be toxic to pets or humans. However, as with all plants, it is best to prevent pets and children from ingesting any part of the tree.
