DETAILS

Care Instructions
Radermachera sinica thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers moderate temperatures. It enjoys high humidity and should be kept in a well-ventilated area. Water the plant regularly to keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight as this can scorch the leaves.
Soil
The China Doll plant prefers well-draining loamy soil that retains some moisture but does not become waterlogged. A mix of potting soil with perlite or sand can help improve drainage. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water from accumulating at the bottom.
Fertilizer
Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer, such as a 10-10-10 N-P-K formula, every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. Reduce feeding during the winter months when the plant's growth slows down.
Repotting
Repot the China Doll plant every 1-2 years or when it becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is one size larger than the current one and ensure it has good drainage. Gently remove the plant from its old pot, loosen the roots, and place it in the new pot with fresh soil.
Propagation
Radermachera sinica can be propagated through stem cuttings. Take a cutting with at least two nodes and remove the lower leaves. Dip the cut end in rooting hormone and plant it in a pot with moist soil. Keep the cutting in a warm, humid environment until roots develop.
Pruning
Prune the China Doll plant regularly to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead or yellowing leaves and trim back leggy stems. Pruning can be done throughout the year but is best done during the growing season.
Toxicity
Radermachera sinica is not known to be toxic to pets or humans. However, it is always a good idea to keep plants out of reach of small children and pets to prevent any accidental ingestion.
Additional
The China Doll plant can be sensitive to changes in its environment, such as moving to a new location or changes in light and humidity. It may drop leaves in response to stress but usually recovers with proper care. Regular misting can help maintain humidity levels and keep the plant healthy.
