The ideal soil for Melocactus intortus is sandy and well-draining. A cactus or succulent mix is suitable, as it provides the necessary drainage to prevent root rot. Ensure the soil dries out completely between waterings to mimic its natural arid habitat.Удобрения
Fertilize Melocactus intortus with a balanced cactus fertilizer, such as a 2-7-7 N-P-K formula, during the growing season. Apply the fertilizer sparingly, as over-fertilization can harm the plant. Once a month during the growing season is typically sufficient.Пересадка
Repot Melocactus intortus every 2-3 years or when it outgrows its current pot. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and ensure it has good drainage. Handle the plant carefully to avoid damaging the roots and the cephalium.Распространение
Propagation of Melocactus intortus is typically done through seeds. Sow the seeds in a well-draining cactus mix and keep them in a warm, bright location. Germination can take several weeks, and young seedlings should be watered sparingly.Обрезка
