Dendrobium moniliforme, commonly called Sekkoku or the Japanese stone orchid, is a small pseudobulbous (cane) epiphytic to lithophytic orchid native to China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. It grows on trees and rocks in temperate to subtropical forests. Plants typically flower in spring on mature canes, producing fragrant white to pale blooms. It benefits from a cool, drier winter rest to initiate flowering. Compact growth, keiki formation, and high tolerance for mounting make it a favorite among collectors.

Water regularly during active growth, allowing the medium to approach dryness between waterings but not stay dry for long; reduce watering markedly in the cooler months to provide a rest.
